El Jefe's New Website Is Live — Order Online Anytime
For a long time our website said a new one was on the way. It stayed that way for a long time. Then a regular ordered a burger and did something about it.
The customer who fixed it
Esteban Vasquez is in here often enough for a burger that we know the order. On one of those visits he mentioned the thing we already knew — the site had been "being redesigned" for ages and nothing had moved. He runs a small agency, Southern Bridge AI, so he offered to build us a proper one.
That's how this site came about. Over the counter, like most good things around here.
What's new
A front door that looks like the shop. Photos of the real food, the real counter and the real people, instead of a page that could belong to anyone.
The menu, with everything on it. Every burger, every side, every add-on, with prices that are actually current.
The butchery counter, online. The cuts, the hand-tied sausages and the deli gear are all there to browse before you drive over.
Catering, explained properly. Six packages, what's on each menu, what it costs per head and what we bring with us.
Can I order and pay online now?
Yes. Pick your food, choose a pickup time from the ones we have open that day, pay by card, and we'll have it ready for you. You get a confirmation email straight away, and the order prints in the kitchen the moment it lands — no phone call, no waiting on hold, no "did you get my message?"
How does ordering from the butchery work?
A bit differently, and on purpose. Every bag is cut and made up by hand, so no two are ever quite the same. That's why the site shows you an estimate rather than a fixed price.
You place the order, we get in touch to confirm the exact price, and you pay at the shop when you collect it. Nothing from the butchery is charged online. Same for catering — send us the details of your event and you'll get an estimate back by email, then Nico picks it up from there.
Same shop, same fire
Nothing about the food has changed. Same smoker, same hand-tied chorizo, same 100% natural, no fillers, no preservatives. The only difference is that you can now sort dinner from your phone at 10am instead of hoping we've still got picanha at four.
Come and see us at 3/60 Aviation Ave, Mount Maunganui, Tuesday to Saturday — or start from the menu and we'll have it waiting.
Gracias Esteban. Nos vemos.
